Intel to bring Android OS Support to Atom Processors

A few hours back we informed you about Palm getting ready to jump in the Android land. Well we have got one more player willing to join the Android bandwagon and its not just any player its Intel.

Intel's General Manager of Software and services himself shared this rather significant news. Intel will be bringing its Atom based processor to the Google's open source mobile platform as well. How's that for a grand entry.

The General manager reports of successfully porting Android to their x86 based processors, which is great news and signals that the chipmakers are off to a brilliant start. Intel will be entering the mobile phone market with the distinction of having the fastest mobile processor in their possession which will definitely have the consumer base attracted and increase the competition level.

Intel have expressed their intention to not only remain dependent on Google's mobile OS and have expressed intentions to bring all mobile platforms for their Atom powered phones. Let us see how the whole situation develops.
