Adobe puts an end to Flash to iPhone Conversion Tool

Guess what Adobe has done? It has said enough is enough and have stopped it development efforts on the Flash to iPhone component. This component was part of the Flash CS5 that was unleashed very recently.

Guess who compelled this decision. It is none other than Apple as revealed by Adobe Product Manager Mike Chambers:

The primary goal of Flash has always been to enable cross browser, platform and device development. The cool web game that you build can easily be targeted and deployed to multiple platforms and devices. However, this is the exact opposite of what Apple wants. They want to tie developers down to their platform, and restrict their options to make it difficult for developers to target other platforms.

The cross platform feature will still be part of Flash CS5. However it won't be getting any significant updates which means maintenance update will be only unleashed. Adobe from now on will be shifting its effort to the Android platform which means only greater things for Google's Mobile platform.
