The much awaited smartphone HTC Evo 4G which will use Sprint’s network will go on for sale on June 4 for $200. HTC Evo 4G is the first ever 4G enabled phone which took exceptionally good reviews in tech industry. But whenever we talk about smartphones the very first question that pops in our mind is, of course, will it compete with Apple’s iPhone?
The HTC Evo 4G will be on sale for for $200 with a 2 year contract which is quite shocking as it was expected to have a price closer to iPhone. 4G users will be charged an extra $10 by Sprint. Or call it a marketing stretegy, a phone that is good enough to compete with everyone’s hot favourite iPhone has a price which will attract alot of people.
The Android powered EVO 4G has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512 RAM and 1GB ROM. HTC Evo 4G has an 8GB microSD card with it and it supports up to 32GB. It also boasts GPS sensor, proximity sensor, a light sensor, digital compass, G-sensor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The Evo 4G with its attractive display of 4.3 inch, 480×800 pixels TFT LCD also has 2 cameras; one camera is of 8 megapixels with a flash and the forward facing camera is at 1.3 megapixels for video calls. HDMI output is there to connect it with your other devices like television.
Making its more extraordinary, HTC Evo 4G turns itself to a Wireless Hotspot by allowing 8 other network to connect with it. This feature is really mind blowing. Sprint will provide network services for HTC Evo 4G that will be available in 27 cities of US.
So, we have one date of HTC Evo 4G confirmed. On the other hand we have Apple’s iPhone 4G/HD expected to be introduced at WWDC 2010 on June 7.
