This new model features new exhaust system including bypass valve and it is 2 kilos lighter in comparison to the system used in RSV4 R. It is 2nd generation electronic dynamics control package which is developed by Aprilia to get closer to physical limits of riding. APRC is based on automotive inertia sensor platform, with 2 accelerometers and 2 gyrometers which allow the ECU for determining the control engine torque and dynamic state of motorbikes. Aprilia is a subsidiary of Piaggio, which is one of the favorite rickshaw and mini truck manufacturer in the nation. The bike was launched in EICMA show held in Milan last year. The bike is expected to be launched in India by mid 2011 and the price of this upcoming model in India is not yet announced and is expected to be around Rs.2,000,000/-.



The Aprilia TUONO V4 R is called the naked street fighter according to the company statement. It is having 999.6cc liquid cooled V4 engine, which defines it as a superbike. The engine is having 16 valve double head over heated cam (DOHC). The bore and stroke dimension will be measured to as 78.0x52.3mm. The compression ratio will be 13:1 and the fuel delivery is done through injection mechanism.

A 13:1 compression rate is delivered by its forged piston. The RSV4R model is very close to RSV4 factory model in terms of features and specification except for the suspension area. The RSV4R model is wrapped in a dual-spar aluminum frame and a weight of 405 lbs and features the Showa/Sachs suspension, aluminum components, plastic portions of bodywork and a non-adjustable chassis, wet sump lubrication system with oil radiator and 2 oil pumps, multi disc oil bath, 4 strokes, and liquid cooling system. On the other hand, the RSV4 factory model features Ohlin’s suspension, magnesium components and carbon fiber bodywork. It also lets you change the swing arm pivot point, engine position and head angle. It also has the variable height air intake trumpets that don’t fit with the RSV4R models.
