Watch Favorite Videos and Listen Music On Your iPad With ZumoCast

Zumocast is an app designed for both iPhone and iPad which is able to turn a computer into a personal cloud that can stream video to these devices. The app uses a web-based interface and no upload or sync are required because the videos and music stay on your computers!

Zumocast is a well known product, released previously for iPhone and iPod Touch which allowed to stream media from any computer to your iPhone and iPod Touch. Now, the company launched the same app for iPad, with a redesigned interface for this platform.

It supports ivX (divx),Flash MP4 Video (f4v),Quicktime HD Movie (hdmov), MPEG-2 Program Stream File (m2p), Matroska (mkv), AVCHD Video (mts), Material Exchange Format (mxf), Ogg Media File
(ogm, ogv, ogx) , SMIL Presentation File (smil), Video Transport Stream (ts), ASF (asf, asx), 3GPP (3gp, 3g2, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3p2), AVI (avi), Flash Video (flv), MP4 (m4v, mp4), QuickTime Movie (mov), MPEG Movie (mpeg, mpg), Real Media (rm, rmvb), DVD Rip (vob, iso) and Windows Media (wmv). This completely frees you from convert videos and music files to formats required for iPad.

What You Have To Do:

Technically you link your computer to their online service and then run the application on your iPad. While setting it up you will need to share folders which has your music and videos or even files. The application running on your iPad then locates your computer and streams video and audio to your computer.

Now for doing this you need to have internet connection but if your iPad and PC or Mac or on same network, it will stream them over the network which means at home you don’t consume any bandwidth but if lets say if you are at office and want to watch movie then it bandwidth consumption takes place. But since this application also lets you download movies to your iPad from your computer you can temporarily download and delete it when you have watched the movie enough.

It also adjusts video quality according to the speed of the network. It also works over 3G.

Another excellent feature is that you will be able to transfer files from your computer to the iPad with only one click. Just by pressing a button on your iPad it will automatically download the file from your computer and save it in an IOS format to enjoy your choosen file at any time.

Drawbacks

The drawback to this application is it needs internet connection to link your computer and iPad even if you are on the same network. Probably that’s required for authentication but once connected you can just disconnect and still watch your movies and listen to songs.

World’s Biggest Diamond Mine – Mirny (Mir Mine)

World’s Biggest Diamond Mine is located at Mirna, Eastern Siberia, Russia. The mine is 525 meters (1,722 ft) deep and has a diameter of 1,200 m (3,900 ft).

The mine is so big and giat that the airspace above the mine is closed for helicopters because of a few incidents in which they were sucked in by the downward air flow. To give an idea how big it is here is is a fine illustration.

giant truck, BELAZ (200-220 ton payload )

Figure 1

Mirny

Figure 2

This giant truck, BELAZ (200-220 ton payload ) (see Figure 1), looks like small spot on next picture (see Figure 2). The truck in the picture, one of the biggest in the world, is just a small point in comparison to the diamond mine.

The town is strictly off limits to outsiders without a special permit and the authorities regard any foreigners with considerable suspicion. BBC Reported about this here

History:
The mine was discovered on June 13, 1955 by Soviet geologists Yuri Khabardin, Ekaterina Elagina and Viktor Avdeenko during the large Amakinsky Expedition in Yakut ASSR. They found traces of volcanic rock kimberlite which are usually associated with diamonds. This finding was the first success in the search for kimberlite in Russia, after numerous failed expeditions of the 1940s and 1950s. For this discovery, in 1957 Khabardin was given the Lenin Prize, which was one of the highest awards in the Soviet Union.

The development of the mine had started in 1957 in extremely harsh climate conditions. Seven months of winter per year froze the ground into permafrost, which was hard in winter, but turned into sludge in summer. Buildings had to be raised on piles, so that they would not sink in summer, and the main processing plant had to be built on a better ground found 20 km away from the mine. The winter temperatures were so low that car tires and steel would shatter and oil would freeze. During the winter, the workers used jet engines to defreeze and dig out the permafrost or blasted it with dynamite to get access to the underlying kimberlite. The entire mine had to be covered at night to prevent the machinery from freezing.

Verizon Launching 4G Network

Verizon smack talk campaign against AT&T and currently considering for its 4G (LTE) network.Verizon is also considering network speeds as well as data transfer amounts in wireless plan pricing……

The latest rumblings come straight from the mouth of Verizon Communications CEO Ivan Seidenberg, who told the Wall Street Journal that Verizon Wireless which is on the cusp of launching its 4G LTE (short for “Long-Term Evolution”) data network is mulling the idea of making speed a factor in its upcoming tiered data plans. Both Verizon and AT&T are looking to LTE technology to power their upcoming 4G data networks. Verizon is slated to switch on LTE in close to 40 markets before the year is out.

Sprint is still charging 4G customers the same $60 a month that it does 3G customers and indeed, 4G users get a better deal, given that Sprint’s 3G broadband plan is capped at 5GB a month while the 4G plan is (for now) unlimited.Users of Sprint’s two 4G phones the HTC Evo 4G and the Samsung Epic 4G are also subject to the same “Everything Data” bundles (starting at $69 a month) as are those with 3G phones. That said, Sprint also charges a $10 “premium data” fee for Evo 4G and Epic 4G users although the carrier swears up and down that the extra charge is based on the hardware of those two handsets, not because they’re using Sprint’s 4G network.

T-Mobile is sticking with the same data plans on its “4G” HSPA+ network that users of 3G data are paying: $40 a month for 5GB of data for mobile broadband cards, or $30 a month for 5GB of smartphone data, after which your download speeds will be “throttled” to sub-3G speed. All four of the big U.S. carriers are promising significant speed boosts from their respective 4G networks as fast as 20Mbps in ideal cases, although most will probably see speeds ranging from 5 to 10Mbps or so. Also, it’ll take months or even years before most of the country is blanketed in 4G coverage, meaning that early adopters of the first 4G broadband cards, smartphones and tablets will have to put up with spotty 4G signals.
