Acer launch there 3 New Smartphones in India on Feb 3rd 2010

It seems like now a days having mobile with touch-sensitive screens is no big deal. Nokia, Samsung and LG have already joined the bandwagon, and now Acer takes the lead by launching three new phones – two in this lower segment and one premium model.


In order to fetch clientele, the company has tied up with Tata Docomo, offering initial buyers free download data of 500MB per month for the first six months.

The Touch e101 is one of the lowest end of the new series, comprising of a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen TFT supportive for 65K colours and covers 240×320 pixels. What is more comforting is the device has a scroll wheel under it for easier navigation. Running on Windows Mobile 6.5, the device has a primary camera of 2MP. The device also has 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM (expandable via microSD), and the complete Pocket Office suite which enables a user to tranfer data at a fast speed. Since it doesn’t have 3G or Wi-Fi, EDGE and Bluetooth will have to suffice for connectivity. The 1140mAh battery gives an amazing performance that is the talk time is for 5 hours and stand by time is for 400 hours. The Acer beTouch e101 retails at Rs. 11,900.

The Touch e200 is another attraction, having a tiny 3-inch touchscreen which supports 65K colours and is capable to cover 240×400 pixels. The device has a decent camera that is of 3.15-megapixel camera. The screen also slides up to reveal a full numeric keypad, which can be quite handy for those who do a lot of text messaging.
Apart from adding 3G and Wi-Fi to the mix, the beTouch e200 does not vary in features from the features of the beTouch e200, and is appropriately priced at Rs. 17,900 which gives people value for their money.

Acer has also launched its premium mobile handset in India, the monstrous Acer neoTouch. There’s the 1GHz Snapdragon processor which help powering the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. Additionally, Acer has overlaid the operating system with its customised Acer UI 3.0 for easy touch-based navigation. The phone comprises of a large 3.8-inch resistive touchscreen which supports 65K colours and has capacity to cover a decent pixelete area in the figures of 480×800 pixels). What attracts people the most is that the device comes with an accelerometer for auto-rotation, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.
