Paypal Resumes India Bank Withdrawals for Export of Goods and Services

Paypal will resume bank withdrawals to India, but only for settlements for exports of goods and services, and not yet for personal payments. Earlier Paypal had blocked personal payments to and from India, and suggest that the paypal India ban may continue for a few months.

Moving forward, the RBI has told us that PayPal needs specific approvals to allow personal inward remittances to India, which we currently do not have. Until we get these approvals, personal payments into India will remain suspended. However, if you are an exporter, you will continue to be able to use the PayPal service for payments of goods and services.

Paypal has to comply with Reserve bank of India regulations, and it seems they have only allowed for settlements for exports of goods and services, and by Wednesday, March 3rd, Paypal will resume bank withdrawal services to India for these verified people.

Need Export Code

But all is not same now - Now you need to fill out a new field called ‘Export Code’ to process a withdrawal, to identify the nature of cross-border merchant transactions. Codeitwell says that the Importer Exporter Code or IEC is a 10 digit numeric code issued to Indian companies by DGFT – Director General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. Now how many bloggers who run a few common advertising programs can fill that form out and register as companies or exporters.

Pay Service Tax?

But the question is – are simple bloggers who put up a few ads to earn advertising income be called exporters of service? I just link up to the Export of Service Rules, 2005 from the official Indian Service Tax website, which might suggest some tax implications. Automaker to increase price after excise duty hike

Reacting to Government's decision of increasing excise duty to 10 percent, major automobile manufacturers in the country today said that they will increase the car prices by upto Rs 25,000.

Maruti Suzuki which is India's largest car manufacturer said that it will increase the price of its car models by up to 2 percent in India. Maruti currently has around 54% market share in India. While on the other hand Hyundai Motors which is country's largest car exporter said that the excise duty hike will result in a price hike of Rs 6,500-25,000 on an average.

R C Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India said that, "Car prices will go up by about two per cent. This is essential to offset the increase in central excise duty announced by the Finance Minister today".

Government of India had cut down the excise duty rates to 8 percent to provide a stimulus package to Automobile Industry which was struggling with low sales and credit crunch at that time. But now as Automobile Industry in India has recovered very much and registered a record sales growth in the starting month of this year , the government of India has increased the excise duty again.

Bajaj Auto sold 10 lac shares

A very important news that will catch your hold at ! In a bulk open market, today Bajaj Auto sold over 10 lac shares to another promoter entity Bajaj Holdings and investments. A move that will consolidate their stake , the value of shares is about Rs 180.45 crore.

Five promoters of Bajaj Auto sold 10,47,500 shares at a price between Rs 1,715 and Rs 1,730 per share. Today as per the block deal data which is available with the Bombay Stock Exchange today.



These shares were bought by Bajaj Holdings & Investment in a block deal .


As Bajaj Holdings & Investment is promoter group entity of Bajaj Auto. Bajaj Auto has got the second position in two wheeler segment. Promoters were Geetika Bajaj, Shekhar Bajaj, Anant Bajaj, Anant Trust and Ruparani Bajaj. Promoters' stake was 49.62 per cent in Bajaj Auto at december end as per the reports of BSE. Today Bajaj Auto got an up 1.35 per cent on BSE and it was closed at Rs 1,748.40.

One more important aspect is Rahul Bajaj, promoter of Bajaj electricals sold his 35,35,000 shares to Shekhar Bajaj.

Promoter Rahul Bajaj sold at a price of Rs 182.65 per share no.of shares were 18,60,000. Next lot of equities have 16,75,000,price was Rs 185 per share. These shares were bought in by Anant Bajaj and Shekhar Bajaj the price range was same.

The shares bought by Bajaj Auto Holdings were sold by Rahul Bajaj Rs 221 per piece no.of shares were 3,25,000 .

Paypal Says Currency Fluctuations Wont effect the Reversed Bank Withdrawal

Every person using PayPal from India might be now knowing the issues faced by PayPal and it seems the personal transfers to Indian accounts will not happen very soon. During this issue, people who had withdrawn the amount from their PayPal account to their bank account got it reversed to their PayPal account. We contacted the customer support at PayPal yesterday because of this reason and here is what the custom support had to tell us.

We would like to inform you that we will reimburse the total amount and ensure that you are not impacted by any currency fluctuations during the last week. This reimbursement should appear after the restoration of your account balance has been completed.

We will be contacting you in the next few days with an update and, if the issue has been resolved, you can initiate another withdrawal to your India bank account at that time.

This email states that the amount would be fully reimbursed and market fluctuations during the last week will not be considered. Now, we’ll have to wait and see if PayPal takes currency fluctuations into account or not.

As Acer launched 10 smart-phone mobiles in India last year, it also announced to launch 10 new smartphones in India....there vision is to be the top-5players class within the next 3-years, Acer Smart Handheld Business Group (SHBG) Country Head (India) Richard Tan told to reporters here.

The company had launched New "Acer Liquid" on Feb 3rd, 2010 in the market with the price tag of Rs.24,900/- based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor and Android platform.
