LG launched two new mobile phones GU 220, GU 285 in India

LG Electronics, India has announced the launch and has unleashed two of its latest mobile handsets – LG GU220 and GU285 – in the Indian mobile phone market. LG GU 220 and LG GU 285 mobiles comes with awesome multimedia features and are extremely affordable. The best part is that one of them, LG GU 285 is even 3G enabled. LG GU285 mobile is slim and sleek, compact slider armed with large 5.6cm TFT screen, 1.3MP primary camera and function of printing images through blue tooth is an add on. The Secondary VGA Camera is future ready for video telephony.The LG GU285 phone’s classic design matches fast life and a fasted to access favorite function with configurable Hotkey and Multi Tasking Key.Browsing is simply fast through EDGE and in addition to it one can take download at higher speeds with 3G Data Connection.

Nokia N8 announced by Nokia

Nokia Corp., announced its Nokia N8, the first smartphone ever to use open-source Symbian 3 Operating System (OS) on April 27, 2010.

The new operating system will compete with its contemporaries like the iPhone OS and Android OS. The new OS will offer customizable home screens, multi-touch, single tap and faster multitasking.



Nokia N8 will feature a 3.5" touchscreen, HD video capability, free Ovi maps, a 12-megapixel camera with a Xenon flash and support for video recording and and flick-scrolling with 2D and 3D graphics.

With such features loaded on Nokia N8, Nokia Corp, the world’s largest mobile phone makers, claim that the device will be better than N900 and N95 smartphones is just precisely correct.

The smartphone has a unique and not known before, software development environment, called as Qt, that allows creation of applications that will run on Symbian, maemo and MeeGo-based devices.

Nokia N8 smartphone will be released in UK in the third quarter of 2010 after which it will make its way to other places round the globe.

HTC Evo 4G to Cost $200 on Contract

Rumor has it that the sexy looking HTC Evo 4G which happens to be a power house as well will cost just $200 on contract. This rumor comes from a Best Buy representative which might have some weight to it but you never know.

If this rumor turns out to be true, then the 4G enabled phone will be costing the same as the HTC Incredible which as the name suggests is simply incredible. This is a bit surprising considering the fact that it has a gigantic 4.3 inch touch-screen and WiMax.

But I don't see a reason to complain? Do you? Anyhow, this device also has a front facing video camera on top of 8 MP camera. It lets you record 720p videos and upload it to YouTube. In other words, a device that definitely should be purchased once it comes out.

ALCATEL makes a comeback with ICE3

Two new smartphones from Blackberry announced- BlackBerry Bold 9650 and Blackberry Pearl 3G.

Research In Motion (RIM), blackberry smartphone manufacturers, have launched today two more smartphones named as BlackBerry Bold 9650 and Blackberry Pearl 3G. Bold is their premium most brand name and with Pearl 3G, they have made their smallest smartphone ever.



The new BlackBerry Bold 9650 is an extraordinary smartphone with truly impressive messaging, multimedia options and connectivity features.Beside a QWERTY keypad, optical trackpad and Wi-Fi, the new smartphone also allows users to talk on the phone while browsing the websites. It is loaded with 512 MB Flash memory and an expandable memory card slot that supports up to 32 GB microSDHC cards. It works on 3G network.

It is attractive with its glossy black finish and chrome highlights and its resolution is such that pictures, videos and web pages are seen on it in great contrast and sharp quality.

Apart from a 3.2 MP camera with flash, zoom, image stabilization, autofocus and video recording features, the new BlackBerry Bold 9650 also features advanced media player and a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and support for Bluetooth.

WES 2010: Blackberry Bold 9650 and Pearl 3G Announced

WES 2010, the biggest Blackberry event of the year, has already made some waves. Early today RIM announced the launch of the Blackberry Bold 9650 and the Blackberry Pearl 3G. A 3G Pearl, really? You would think that it was 2007, making an announcement of a 3G capable phone, but RIM is just now adding 3G support to its Pearl 9100 line. Actually its getting a little more than just 3G, its the first Blackberry to have 802.11 N WiFi support. RIM is launching two updated Pearl devices, the 9100 and 9105. Both devices will see the updated 3G support and the wireless N support, but also will have GPS, 256MB of flash memory and, microSDHC support. They will both be powered by a 624MHz processor.

The design behind the Pearl line-up was to make a Blackberry with all the bells and whistles in smaller, slim design. As you can see the Pearl is a lot slimmer than normal Blackberry, thanks to the SureType keypad, which is a 20 key design. It basically places two letters on one button. The 9100 will continue to use the SureType keypad, but the 9105 is getting a more traditional keypad. It’s almost a standard 14-key layout, with sort of a predictive text software incorporated into Blackberry’s OS. There is no word on any U.S carriers that will offer the new Pearl 3G line, but there was announcement that Canadian carriers Rogers and TELUS, will offer both Pearl handsets, in a variety of colors.

The long awaited Blackberry Bold 9650 is a perfect example of RIM ability to update it’s hardware wonderfully from generation to generation. Now that RIM has axed the Blackberry Tour, it seems that the 9650 will be taking its place. It’s almost identical to the Tour in respect to its hardware, but the 9650 will offer a nice new optical pad that replaces the troubled trackball that was in the Tour. That isn’t all the Blackberry Bold 9650 brings to the table, it will support 3G speeds, and WiFi capabilities. Just like the Tour it will have 2.4″ inch 480 x 360 resolution display, but it will be the first Blackberry to offer OpenGL support for 3D graphics. The Bold 9650 will also see its memory doubled from 256MB to 512MB.

The Blackberry Bold 9650 will be the first BlackBerry Bold for CDMA networks, as it also was announced today that Sprint (also some Verizon rumors) would be offering the new Bold 9650 on May 23rd, for $199.99 with a new two-year service agreement, after a $100 mail-in rebate. Samsung Galaxy S nearing its Launch day

Remember the powerful and sexy looking Samsung Galaxy S announced by Samsung folk at CTIA back in March? Well there is good news for folks waiting anxiously for its arrival. The Android 2.1 based phone acquired the Global Certification Forum (GCF) approval which means only one thing, it is set to arrive soon.

The GCF approval signals that the phone is ready to grab a flight and land at the intended and planned destinations. GCF folks were kind enough to reveal the existence of hardware level support for telephony services.

The phone is set to land in different regions of the world which includes Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America. Let us hope that its launch plans are revealed as soon as possible.
