LG Ally Android Phone set for Launch with Iron Man 2

What’s the best way to announce and market your first Android device in US? Well, if you are LG you would promote the phone in an Iron Man 2 commercial, a film which promises to be a blockbuster. As a matter of fact, I am looking to see the movie as soon as possible.

So here’s what happened. The Iron Man 2 commercial leaked out on Friday and at the end of the commercial asked the users to go to LG.com/ally but wait the story doesn’t end there. Much to the disappointment of many, the LG ally’s official webpage redirected them to a page which said “Check back on April 30th for the complete LG Iron Man 2 experience”

What seems to surprise me here is the fact that no one from LG bothered to show up on Saturday and undo the blunder they did on Friday. I just wonder what kind of impact will this act have on their marketing campaign.

Coming to the phone, nothing is known about the Android based device except for the fact that it is powered by a 600 Mhz processor has the 2.1 firmware, and will have Verizon performing the carrier duties.

Samsung to bring more Android-based smartphones

It seems the Samsung folks have realized the true power of Android as a competitive mobile platform and revenue generator. Sources report that the second ranked mobile phone makers have decided that the 50% of its future mobile devices will be running on Google’s open source mobile platform.

This could mean only greater and fabolous things for the Android nation. The likes of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S says it all. Based on this news it is safe to say that we can expect to see Samsung Galaxy S successors in the future from Samsung which is an interesting prospect in itself.

Speaking of Samsung’s love for Android, talks have surfaced that suggest the gadget makers might be bringing Android to their upcoming TV sets as well.

Of course the remaining 50% of smartphones will be using Samsung’s very own Bada OS and a yet to be named mobile OS. Is Samsung thinking of adopting the upcoming Windows Phone 7 OS as well?
