Motorola announces the rough and tough Motorola Defy

Its raining Android phones these days. Motorola after launching the Droid 2 has come up with another smartphone. But this time around, Motorola has an Android smartphone lined up for the rugged category and the makers of the original Droid are calling it Motorola Defy.

Here is how Bill Ogle, Motorola’s Chief Marketing Officer describes the device:

DEFY is designed to handle everything that life throws your way. With all the features consumers expect in a smartphone, DEFY packs Web browsing, entertainment and messaging capabilities as well as an exterior design that can withstand the stresses of everyday life.

As the marketing officer said, specs wise it is a modern Android device with the added advantage of being a rough and tough gadget. Here are the more notable aspects of the device:

  • 3.7 inch scratch resistant touch screen.
  • 5 MP camera with
  • WiFi.
  • Bluetooth.
  • Flash lite enabled web browser.
  • Can connect to TV, gaming consoles and PCs to store and share content.

It seems as if Motorola was in a hurry preparing this press release as some important details are missing from the device. No word on the processor speed for the device with Motorola Blur UI. Price plan is yet to be unveiled. All that is known at the moment is that it is a T-Mobile US exclusive device.
