Yamaha Motor brings "Yamaha Safe Riding Science" in New Delhi
The initiative is focused especially on inculcating safe riding habits and aims to contribute to raising traffic safety awareness among local communities and not only among Yamaha customers. The initiative has been developed by the company in accordance with its basic philosophy of "Safety riding being achieved by intelligent activity, not by the operation or movement". Intelligent activity, in turn, is achieved by imbibing and following traffic safety awareness and values into riding.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yutaka Terada, Director – Sales and Marketing said, "YSRS initiative was started by Yamaha in order to educate youth about dangers of riding in the increasing traffic condition and promote safe riding in the country. By becoming familiar with the safe and correct riding methods, riders not only avoid accidents and injuries, but also enjoy more when riding their motorcycles. We have received overwhelming response for YSRS program and youth in various cities have learnt the techniques of safe riding while undergoing a positive attitudinal change towards safer riding practices.”
Through this initiative, the company is all set to take the idea of safe riding to colleges across the country. It has also prepared a short film of 20 minutes duration, in which it has scientifically analyzed impact force, inertia force and frictional force from a road traffic viewpoint.
Yamaha launched Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) initiative in India in 2008, and has successfully introduced it to the youth of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur and Goa, till now. Overwhelmed by the public response everywhere, Yamaha is back in Delhi with another round of this event, and hopes that it will go a long way in inculcating safe riding habits among everyone who have a passion for biking.
BMW to launch new bike soon in India
Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda and Harley Davidson are selling their higher range motorcycles in the Indian auto market. BMW will become the next giant of massive motorcycle manufacturer in the country. The heavybikes are creating their strong establities in the auto market and seeing a growth of 40 percent yearly. It is speculited that the company will launch the new 1200cc motorcycle, which will be known as BMW K1300S. New BMW K1300S is believed to be available with hefty price tag of Rs. 1,020,000/-. BMW will invest of Rs 70 crore for their motorcycle production in India.
The new massive motorcycle would be more powerful and extreme performer in the auto market. BMW K1300S might be loaded features with a 1293cc, 4 stroke, liquid cooled, in line four cylinder, four valves per cylinder and two-overhead camshafts which can produce maximum power output of 175 hp at 9,250 rpm while generates peak torque of 140 Nm at 8,250 rpm. The new bike comes with three royal shades in the international market. The body colours options are Black, light and dark colour, orange metallic and light grey metallic.
The new version of Hyundai i10 launched
The 1.1l has a mileage of 19.81 km per litre, 1.2l engine will deliver a fuel economy of 20.36 km per litre, the company claimed. This addition gets more power to the engine which is approximately up by 3 PS. The new Hyundai i10 has been developed with new fron nose and slight changes in rear part. The rear view of the car is re-freshed with a new bumper design and reverse parking sensors.
Besides, the interiors of the new Hyundai i10 got some exciting changes that include mounted audio controls on steering wheel along with Bluetooth controls. The dashboard of the car is also wrapped in two-tone designing job. A USB and AUX connection are also integrated to the newly styled dashboard. After launching the facelifted version of Hyundai i10, the company will target to capture more new customers and will increase the demand of premium hatchback cars in the country. It will compete with Maruti Swift, Honda Jazz, Maruti Ritz and Tata Indica.
Maruti Suzuki unveils SX4 Hybrid and Eeco Charge Electric concepts for demonstration
Maruti Suzuki has developed the SX4 Hybrid vehicles and 'Eeco Charge' concept vehicles as a part of the demonstration fleet. The demonstration of the fleet of SX4 Hybrids and 'Eeco Charge' vehicles at the Commonwealth Games 2010, is in line with the ambitious NHPP and MNRE program outline. SX4 Hybrid and 'Eeco Charge' concept development has been taken up by Maruti Suzuki as a part of the Government initiated and SIAM coordinated NHPP and MNRE National Hybrid Propulsion Program (NHPP) and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources (MNRE)'s High Energy Density Battery Development Program.
The development of Hybrid and Electric vehicles is one of the exciting initiatives undertaken by Maruti Suzuki to enhance its R and D capabilities and gear itself for greener technologies. Through this exercise Maruti Suzuki is keen to expand its learning's on green technologies that put minimal stress on non-renewable energy. A team of 25 Maruti Suzuki engineers worked on this project with global hybrid technology and component suppliers. These future technology vehicles by Maruti Suzuki demonstrate how eco-friendliness and personal mobility can be packaged together as an exciting product. These concepts have been developed by a team of Maruti Suzuki engineers and were showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2010. Maruti SX4 Hybrid is a Full Parallel Hybrid with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) on a sedan platform. SX4 Hybrid presents a case of evolution of transportation system with elements of flexibility, style and eco-friendliness. SX4 Hybrid offers mobility solution in an eco-friendly yet stylish manner.
The hybrid system used in the SX4 Hybrid features an electric motor and twin clutch arrangement with advance Lithium-ion battery technology. This concept combines a 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine and a 50 kW electric motor along with 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission. Together, these provide high fuel economy with lower emissions. The SX4 Hybrid is also capable of running solely on its electric motor, offering a further boost to fuel efficiency and zero emission modes in city driving. The SX4 hybrid offers 25 per cent more fuel efficiency compared to conventional gasoline vehicle.
'Maruti Eeco Charge' is a zero-emission, pure electric vehicle developed on a MPV platform. It is powered by a 50kW motor and a 24kWh Lithium-ion battery. On full charge it promises a driving range of around 100km and attains top speed of 100 km per hour. The 'Eeco Charge' also has the 'Sport Mode' for acceleration enthusiast. The battery for 'Eeco Charge' has been packaged under floor for better drivability and retaining ample boot space. The real time display of State of Charge and 'Distance to Empty' addresses user's anxiety. The 'Eeco Charge' can be charged using household power source.
The all new Hero Honda Splendor Pro launched

Piaggio plan to set up new plants in Indian and Vietnam
The Piaggio Vespa 125 will be launched by the year of 2012. Piaggio is constructing new manufacturing plant in India to produce Scooters and motorcycles. Piaggio will extend its facility in Vietnam, in order to meet huge demand coming from South East Asian markets. In European market, the group will strengthen its leadership in boost motorcycle and scooters market shares for the Aprilia and Moto Guzzi brands. The new Vespa LX125 comes loaded with Single-cylinder leader, 4 stroke with electronic injection.

Its raining Android phones these days. Motorola after launching the Droid 2 has come up with another smartphone. But this time around, Motorola has an Android smartphone lined up for the rugged category and the makers of the original Droid are calling it Motorola Defy.

New Hyundai i10 would be powered by a new 1.0 litre engine with a CO2 emission figure of 99 grams per kilometre. A larger 1.2 Kappa heart will also be loaded with the new face-lifted version of Hyundai i10. The company will display the new version at the upcoming Paris Auto Show which will be held in October this current calendar year. However, the price of this new face-lifted variant has not been yet official announced by the company.
Suzuki Slingshot 125 launched in South India
The new Slingshot 125 is powered by Air-cooled, 4-stroke, 1 cylinder, SOHC engine that produces top power output of 8.5 Bhp at 7500 rpm while delivers peak torque of 10 Nm at 3500 rpm with its 124cc. After getting hug success of 100cc and 150cc segments bikes, now the company looking for the mass segment, the new 125cc Slingshot has been filled the the gap between the 100cc to 150cc class in the Indian auto market. Anu Anamika, National Head Marketing said, “The company is planning to invest up to Rs 500 crore till 2012 for the capacity expansion.”
Suzuki Motorcycle is also intending to increase its dealership network from the present 200 plus to 350 in the Indian auto market by the end of 2012.
