India Yamaha motors, the country's largest premium bike manufacturer, has launched a wide range of premium motorcycles in the Indian auto market including
Yamaha Gladiator, Yamaha Fazer, Yamaha FZS and Yamaha FZ16. Yamaha Gladiator is one of the best premium motorcycle of the company, which was introduced in the Indian auto market in the beginning of March 2008. Presently, Yamaha Gladiator is available with two different variants called as Yamaha Gladiator RS and SS. There is no technical difference in both the variants except graphic and colour. The Gladiator SS version is stands for sporty and stylish and RS meant for racing style. The all new Yamaha Gladiator is comes at an attractive price tag of between Rs. 46,850 - Rs. 47,350 (ex-showroom-Delhi).
The
Yamaha Gladiator loaded with 123.7cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, 2 value, SOHC engine. The bike's engine mills a maximum power output of 11 PS at 7,500 rpm and produces a top torque of 10.4 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It's power unit is characterized by its 5 speed transmission and multiple wet clutch. The sportier bike fuel tank capacity of around 13 litres. It has a good capabilities to deliver a fuel economy of around 67 kmpl in city while the company had claimed it as 75 km/l. The five speed gear box which gives enough pickup to get ahead of other bikes when the signal turns green and great mileage for highway cruising. It is a perfect blend for both the highway and city riding conditions.
The riding position is very comfortable and specious seat and rider can drive it full day without stress and strain in body. The new bike is offering a excellent corner handling and any gear starting option, which makes a valuable motorcycle in the premium segment. The Gladiator is offered self and kick start options and the alloy wheels comes in black where the people get attracts to its style and graphics. The front brake has a 240mm disc and the rear break comes with a 130mm drum. The dashboard has 3 dials (speedometer,tripmeter and fuel indicator where it has included the indicators signal in same dials).
Yamaha Gladiator is compete with Honda Shine 125cc, Hero Honda Glamour, Bajaj Discover and TVS Flame. On the other hand, Yamaha Motor is also planning to launch their new premium motorcycles including Yamaha SZ, Yamaha YZF125 and Yamaha Bws (premium scooter).
