BMW Adding ICE In Megacity EV

BMW may include an option of a small internal-combustion engine that would act as a range extender for its all-electric Megacity and provides tonic for your range anxiety.BMW is taking a page out of the Chevy Volt’s playbook by placing a small ICE in its EV that doubles the range of the vehicle from 50 to 100 miles……

BMW Financial Officer Frederick Eichiner told on german website Focus.de that the BMW Vehicle Mega City will receive an optional range extender that can be ordered with the electric vehicle. The range extender refers to a small internal combustion engine which can charge the battery while driving.Mega City Vehicle has been previously associated with pure electric mobility.Range Extender is a small internal combustion engine with generator power for the electric drive of the car delivers.BMW will offer its electric car planned for 2013 a so-called range extender. BMW’s chief financial officer Frederick Eichiner announced in the Straubinger Tagblatt on.

The customer will can order a range extender which is a small engine that charges the battery.At last summer during a workshop BMW facility near Munich, the carbon chassis offers at the front enough room for a small internal combustion engine.he customer could therefore have a choice whether to have additional trunk space or the small internal combustion engine. Furthermore, customer can decide how low CO2 emissions compare against larger space inside the vehicle.

With the use of a range extender, the driving range of the vehicle could increase dramatically. Megacity Vehicle uses a lithium-ion battery with 35 kWh of capacity which delivers around 100 miles of driving range before recharging. The range extender will add at least 50% more driving range turning the Megacity into a more functional vehicle, one that can be used extensively outside the city limits as well.In two weeks BMW is expected to reveal more information about the Megacity Vehicle including the official name.A concept version of the Megacity will debut later this fall at Frankfurt Motor Show.

Range Extender brings a technical development to the construction of electric cars which takes more and more are for BMW.GM’s Chevrolet Volt to be related to the model of the first car with range extender on the market, the cars in Germany are offered as Ampera. Audi wants to test the technology in a large-scale test and Daimler researching it. BMW announced on request, the range extender should not be fitted as standard, but sold as an option.

Hero Honda is the world largest bike manufactures in the world. The hero Honda Company went separate a few weeks back. The Honda was a Japanese company and the Hero was an Indian company. Hero Honda was a joint venture of the both companies. The Munjals’s operated Hero group had brought 26 per cent stake of its Honda Company which is a Japan based company. Now the company has decided to remove the Honda name form the brand name of Hero Honda which was once launching the bikes that were rocking the Indian market. The name Honda will be replaced from the name such as Hero Honda Splendor and the Hero Honda Passion, Hero Honda Glamour and the Hero Honda Hunk. But on the another side the Hero Honda CD Deluxe and the Hero Honda CBZ Extreme are under the consideration process.

The Hero group is going to re brand its bikes name from the month of April 2011. The new branded bikes will be available from the month of June this year. Firstly the name of the splendor and the passion will be re-changed with the Hero tag. The company has decided to re brand all the bikes and is slowly considering the different bikes that were under the Hero Honda tag.

The high end bike model by the Hero Honda company in the present date is the Hero Honda Karizma. This is very well renowned bike in the Indian market. The CD Deluxe is the base model of the Hero Honda company. It is also expected that the Hero Company is going to release new naming for their popular bikes. It will be a totally different idea and it will take some time. The Hero Company has already planned and this will be executed very soon in the coming time.

The new invention by the Delphi Automotive is that it has come up with two new vehicle sound generators which are capable of warning pedestrian of approaching hybrid and electric cars. These cars will be affixed by sound generators that can be of great help to the manufacturers of cars across the world. The generators are not only environment friendly but are light weight, compact and inexpensive. It also have some distinctive features that the single-box solutions are lead-free, waterproof and temperature resistant.


General Director, Electronic Controls product business unit at Delphi, Beth Schwarting stated that in future, hybrid and electric cars warning sounds will be needed in North America and Europe. He also reveled that Delphi has come up with environment friendly generators whose are called sounders these make the people aware of the approaching hybrid and electric cars which never makes sounds without the sound generator.

Wanna known more about these electronic sounder system, the two sounders, the first one is almost three times lighter than the conventional multi-box system. It uses near about 90 percent less power, therefore it makes it more environment friendly. The packaging would be simpler by the size and weight of the new sounders, however the it helps in reducing design, test and manufacturing cost.

Delphi has even developed a great sounder which uses a cone speaker, these are use in the application required for high quality sound. The magnet based system is almost 66 percent lighter than the conventional speaker system. Both of these systems are capable enough to successfully incorporate a 32 bit microprocessor with long time memory, which would be the link to the car's audio class-D amplifier.

AMD Opteron 6100 Series Processors

AMD has announced the availability of five new members of the AMD Opteron 6100 Series processor family for SMBs and enterprise segment. The Opteron 6132 HE is an 8-core chip with a clock frequency of 2.2GHz and TDP of 65W. The Opteron 6140 is also an 8-core chip but offers 2.6GHz core frequency and higher TDP of 80W. The Opteron 6166 HE, 6176, and 6180 SE are all 12-core processors, which have 65W TDP and 1.8GHz core speed, 80W TDP and 2.3GHz core speed, and 105W TDP and 2.5GHz core frequency, respectively. Yamaha 250cc to be launched in 2011

The Indian markets has always been crowded with a wide range of bikes whose engine capacity is around 150cc. The bikes with this capacity use to deliver good performance along with good efficiency.
